Maple Rice Krispie Treats
1 stick butter
½ cup maple syrup (Dark or Very Dark)
1 10 oz bag marshmallows (mini are faster)
6 cups Rice Krispies
Directions: Place the butter in a large pot over medium heat and melt the butter. Once melted, add the salt. Cook the butter until it’s reaches an amber color and has a nutty flavor. Remove the pot from the heat and add the maple syrup. It will bubble severely and that’s OK.
Add marshmallows. Stir them in until they melt. Pour the mixture in the bowl of rice krispie treats and fold everything together until it’s well mixed.
Press the mixture in a buttered 8x8 pan and let them cool for one hour before cutting them into squares and serving.
